Khong: Leaders of Myanmar Vision
Ministries
James
and Marta Khong are Burmese nationals serving the country
of Myanmar through a variety of ministries under the
overall umbrella of Myanmar Vision Ministries (MVM). James
oversees the direction and vision of MVM, pastors Tamwe
Christian Center (TCC), and serves as a professor at the
Eastern Bible Institute. The Khongs are affiliated with New
Mission Systems International (NMSI), a USA-based missions
organization headquartered in Fort Myers, Florida.
Mary,
the oldest daughter, has been involved with MVM for a few
years now. In 2006, she worked with Youth With a Mission
(YWAM) on a short-term project and was particularly
impressed with the way YWAM challenged her to take
seriously the cross of Christ. The experience helped her
put feet to her faith including a short-term missions
project with YWAM. Currently, she teaches at a preschool
called Network Education as well as actively helping and
organizing worship services at Tamwe Christian Center.
During the annual Summer Leadership Seminars, she works as
a translator. Mary is a gifted dancer and singer and uses
these God-given talents to reach the lost.
Melody
Grace,
the youngest daughter, loves her family and is quite the
little business woman. At the annual Summer Leadership
Seminars she sells pens, pencils, notebooks and snacks at a
small table she sets up near the Tamwe Christian Center
entrance. The seminar teachers and students walk by her
table upon their arrival and throughout the day. She loves
to serve them in this way. Sounds like a heart preparing
for future ministry!
Ahpong,
their son, always seems to be getting into something. Not
trouble, just something! He's as curious as the Burmese
summers are long. But that's OK. Someone's always near by
to keep him in line. Many young people and adults love to
play and spend time with Ahpong while they are at Tamwe
Christian Center.
