Agriculture efforts become a opportunity for sharing the Gospel.

Agricultural Ministries
We believe God is planning a harvest for the future.

The highest priority of MVM is to save the lost. Many times this process takes place in the context of meeting peoples physical needs as well as their spiritual needs. MVM oversees a number of projects where the agricultural needs of a village are the basis for starting agricultural works. These projects are designed to create self-sustaining villages who otherwise may not be able to adequately take care of their own needs for food, water and livestock. Though initially funded by MVM, the resources and training given to villagers prepares and equips them for becoming independent and able to meet the physical needs of their own. All of this takes place with Christian love and compassion. The sharing of Christ's love and the Gospel take place during the course of the agricultural project.

James Khong oversees a fish and a pig farm in a village in Mobe, close to Eastern Bible Institute. Some EBI students work and live there between classes. The pigs living area is above the fish pond and their waste drops down and feeds the fish below. There were no fish initially but after one year there were fish. Each year the pond is drained and the fish are sold to the local villagers for food. They also sell the baby pigs. This project helps the village and James uses the funds to finance other agricultural projects.

From time to time, this webpage will highlight stories with exciting details of how God is using MVM agricultural ministries to reach the lost in Myanmar. Stay tuned!
