About Myanmar Vision Ministries
We believe God is planning a harvest for the future.
Myanmar Vision Ministries (MVM) is a ministry that seeks to reach the lost in the nation of Myanmar (formerly Burma) with the love of Jesus Christ. Although MVM is committed to this single purpose, we minister in a variety of ways because the most pressing needs in Myanmar vary greatly from region to region.
For example, the greatest needs of one particular people group may be agricultural in nature while another group may be in need of orphan care and children education. There could be a great need for a church and bible studies in one village while another village needs a fish pond or a well for water. In each of these circumstances, MVM seeks to help the local people meet these needs, show them the love of Christ, and share the Gospel.
Many of the unreached peoples that we impact have a deep hunger for God. There are many stories of these new converts waiting for us to come. It's as if God speaks to them, tells them to wait, and then MVM sends out evangelists who eventually find these same peoples. In contrast, ministry in the city of Yangon is much different. There are orphan children in need of loving caregivers. There are youth who, not unlike American young people, are struggling to fit in to their culture with its' own particular challenges and temptations. There is church planting, discipleship, recovery ministries, Bible training, and more, all under the umbrella of Myanmar Vision Ministries.
All of our ministries throughout Myanmar are carried out by a nation-wide network of pastors, teachers, churches and volunteers. MVM is headquartered in the capital city of Yangon and is under the leadership of national pastor, James Khong and his wife, Marta.
