"Indigenous Gospel Approach" in the Delta Region
JUNE 2010 – WRITTEN BY JAMES KHONG

I came back from my second trip to the Delta on June 12th. It was such a good trip. We immersed 14 new ones where my friends baptized 28 a few weeks ago. Now we have 42 Christians there. It was also reported to the police and they were questioned for this, but everything was OK. Our new ones said it strengthened their faith instead. They are all from Buddhist background.

We use different approach there and it worked. I tentatively called this approach "Indigenous Gospel Approach". Buddhism tells you that Jesus is the way would be a short summarization in one sentence. There were some more who wanted to be immersed but not yet because we did not stay overnight and the time was short. They will be baptized later.

Now we need to send or station pastor or evanglelists who understand this approach. They need to be trained first.

YWAM (Youth With A Mission) had funds available for water projects for those villages that need drinking water and we shared both drinking water and living water!

I will update you about more on our progress later.

We have started more reading groups. They are hungry to learn to read.

God Bless you
James, Marta, Mary, Dagung
